We are pleased to announce Paula Kluth, our keynote speaker is confirmed. Paula (she/her) is a consultant, author, advocate, and independent scholar who works with teachers and families to provide inclusive opportunities for students with disabilities and to create more responsive and engaging schooling experiences for all learners. She is a former K-12 special educator who has served as a classroom teacher, co-teacher, and inclusion facilitator. Paula has also been a university professor and has taught courses on both inclusion and disability studies. Most recently, Paula’s work has centered on helping teachers and administrators educate all students in their schools and classrooms. She also frequently works with families and advocacy groups to support goals related to inclusion. In addition to inclusive education, her professional interests include Universal Design for Learning, co-teaching, and educating students with complex support needs

Involved Exceptional Parents Day is a unique one-day conference and resource fair for parents and caregivers of children with disabilities, educators, and service providers. Each year, nearly 400 parents and professionals come together to learn in a collaborative environment, network, and establish life-long friendships.
The Involved Exceptional Parents Day Conference plays a vital role in the San Diego community. Focusing on education and support for families, the conference strives to inform parents about valuable resources, provide learning opportunities, and offer hope and a vision to support a meaningful future for their child. Workshops address early childhood and school-age supports, social and emotional wellness, and adult transition programs and services.
Lora Keller
Since 1983, Lora has been involved in with family support, advocacy, and community building. Through work with Parent to Parent, The Exceptional Family Resource Center, and San Diego Unified, Lora shares a unique perspective on how the parent support movement has evolved and the impact of a parent-professional approach over time. Lora served as the Parent Director/Founder of the Exceptional Family Resource Center, Supervising Special Education Ombudsperson, and the first Chairperson of the Family Resource Center Network of California. Lora continues to support and advocate for families and most importantly believes that parents hold the power to change systems. Lora is a mom to two adults and a proud grandma to Jaxon and Malcolm.
